Hai Liang


Dr. Hai Liang (梁海) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism and Communication, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to that, he worked at the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong from 2014 to 2016.

His research interests lie in social media studies using computational approach -- using social media as a data source and computational approach for data collection and analysis for communication research.

His publications and on-going projects are related to political communication, health communication, and networked communication process. He has published articles in science and social science journals, including JOCCR, HCR, JCMC, NM&S, IJPOR, SSCR, CJC, PLoS ONE, among others.  

He received his PhD from the Web Mining Laboratory at City University of Hong Kong in July 2014. He got two bachelor degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, one in Communication and another in Mathematics.
